Lentil Soup Recipe

I love to refer to this delicious recipe for lentil soup as my Turkish Lentil Soup. The reason for this is that it reminds me of meals we had in Turkey where this particular type of red lentil soup was served.

Lentil soup is a handy go-to recipe during cooler weather. It is hearty and filling while also being easy on the budget. A great meal to enjoy in the week before payday.

I normally serve the lentil soup with Turkish flatbread but any fresh bread goes well with the soup.

In the recipe below I have used red lentils but you can use any available lentil. It is not necessary to soak the lentils overnight but it is advisable to rinse them off in water first.
